In the coming months, we will be setting up a simulated e-commerce and logistics fulfilment training centre to train persons with disabilities. This will be located in the first Enabling Business Hub (EBH) set up in Jurong by SG Enable, in partnership with Bizlink Centre. We will also be launching a series of Train and Place programmes to support persons with disabilities in gaining new skills and employment opportunities. These included skillsets needed in growth industries such as logistics and e-commerce fulfilment, graphic design and e-commerce marketing. Through these programmes, we aim to facilitate the employment of persons with disabilities with pre-employment training and in-employment job support to both employers and persons with disabilities.

We are organising the 'Enabling Employment Charity Dinner' on 24th November 2023 (Friday) at Genting Hotel Jurong, Grand Ballroom. Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat and Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Social and Family Development and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youths Mr Eric Chua have kindly agreed to grace the charity dinner as our Guest-of-Honour and Special Guest, respectively.

One of our beneficiaries is Mr Muhamad Faris Bin Muhd Rosbaha who has physical disability and a lack of confidence to enter open employment after completing his tertiary education.  He enrolled into Bizlink Centre’s Train and Place programme in Contact Centre and Data Management, and the training programme provided him with a safe environment to learn vocational and social skills as he works towards gaining confidence. Muhamad Faris was observed by his trainer to be a fast learner and tasked to manage quality control for Bizlink Centre’s data management projects.   He is also undergoing training in e-commerce fulfilment with a view towards potential employment opportunity in the logistics sector.  Through the funds raised, we hope to support more like Muhamad Faris in transition from Bizlink Centre’s Train and Place programmes towards employment.
